Rudy & Lucrecia's Fall Family of 5 Session

Today we're sharing highlights from Rudy & Lucrecia's family session!

Fall is one of our most popular seasons for family sessions and I can see why. For all nature loving people Fall colors are unbeatable! For us here in the PNW, our Fall is always accompanied by rain. But, we always get those amazing sunny days in between the rainy days and this was one of those amazing sunny days!

Rudy and Lucrecia have a wonderful family - 3 beautiful children between the ages of 8 and 15. Even though their days may revolve around their children, I always love to get to know parents as a couple and feature just them in some pictures together. Rudy and Lucrecia met at a party and he asked her to dance - thus began their relationship. The arrival of their children gave them light and changed their dynamic on life. Their kids make them happy. As a family they enjoy hiking, travel, camping, family dinners, hosting, and laughing together!

Rudy and Lucrecia's kiddos are kind and have sweet personalities. Gianina loves to cook and experiment in the kitchen. Zuleyka keeps them all laughing, and Matthew loves soccer and hugs! I loved chatting and laughing with them too!

Jaz & Briana's Longview Fall family session

We have been following Jaz & Briana's journey for quite a while. We've known them both since they were teenagers (in Briana's case, since before she was a teenager), and before they became an item. We watched their courtship blossom. Bryan officiated at their wedding, and now we have the pleasure of watching them experience parenthood! Luka will soon be two years old, and every time we see him he gets cuter!

Jaz and Briana have embraced the changes that come with becoming parents. Luka's needs always come first, and they couldn't be happier to provide for him. He has been a perfect addition to this couples adventures. Whether its having friends over for a dinner party, traveling to new places, going to the beach to play in the sand with Luka, or just trying new foods, they are always up for a good experience.

Luka is a sweet and loving baby who loves cuddling, he sometimes gets jealous when he sees mommy and daddy hugging without him. He loves Bluey, playing with cars, and kicking the ball with daddy. Luka makes them laugh a lot, with every new word he learns or naughty thing he does. Jaz says he's a perfect human being. They love him so much!

Since Fall season is also apple season, Briana wanted to included apples as an element (and a snack LOL!) in their pictures. Enjoy our favorites from Jaz and Brianas family session!

Jorge & Damariz's Very Fall Family Session Featuring their '68 Firebird

What an exciting session we're sharing today! When Damariz told me that her husband Jorge wanted to include his muscle car in their pictures, I immediately understood that this car was a special project. I began hunting for a location that would feature not only Fall colors but also a space for Jorge to park his Firebird and have it be a main element in their pictures. Don't think we could have done any better. What a way to showcase this beautiful family!

Jorge and Damariz have 4 gorgeous daughters, the youngest two being twins. I really loved getting to know these sweet girls and think I could have kept shooting for hours! They also brought the family pup along to be included in pictures.

We hope you all enjoy these captures as much as we do. But, do keep reading as Jorge shares his family's story with us!

"Damariz and I met at a time when we were both getting to know someone else, the next time we would see each other we were both free and became the best of friends, she went back to Mexico and it would be some time before we met again although we spoke daily and developed a special friendship. The next time we saw each other I asked her to be my wife not my girlfriend, she said yes and we married January 4th 2003.

We planned on using our youth to serve our Creator together, then three years later we had our first daughter Alondra she was so peaceful and quiet that we both took on pioneering again. Having our 4 girls has changed our lives, it changed the purpose of our path and gave us an incomparable joy.

The things our daughters have said since they were small has always made us laugh to our core. The way they see life has always brought us happiness.

Our biggest joy as a couple has always been helping others get to know our God and see how their relationship with him changes their lives.

As a family we love to travel and get to know new friends where we go, some of those trips are shorter and surrounded by the beautiful creation that surrounds us. Our family may not be very unique but I believe it’s very special as all 37 members serve Jehovah whole heartedly.

This picture I believe shows how our family has blossomed, we chose to include my car because I got it when Alondra was born and I have worked on this 1968 Firebird since then, with my dads and brothers help. More than a car, I see it as a time capsule since it reminds of the process and who has been part of it."

Jeffery & Zoe's Empress Estate Wedding

Jeff & Zoe celebrated the most beautiful Fall wedding at The Empress Estate located up in the hills of Woodland Washington. Bryan and I were thrilled to shoot a wedding in our own little home town! We toured this venue years ago just after they opened and we finally found our perfect couple to enjoy it with!

The estate house, floral details, pastel color palate, and especially the bridal gown gave us all Bridgerton vibes and we loved it!

Jeff and Zoe planned this day perfectly to make it their own. One of the most memorable moments of the day for Jeff and Zoe was their first look. It was perfectly orchestrated and we could just feel their excitement! Zoe also shared a first look with her dad, they had a really sweet moment!

A delightful ceremony followed which reflected their own beliefs and was officiated by a personal friend. They included an exchange of vows and wedding rings witnessed by loyal friends and most importantly - family. Even family who couldn't be there were included with a "wish you were here table" where they pictured relatives that had passed away but still wanted them to be a part of their day.

There are so many beautiful details and moments that we could describe, but as you know, a picture is worth a thousand words; so please enjoy some of our favorites from Jeff and Zoe's Empress Estate wedding!

Sirenyti's Day Break Senior Session

We are featuring Sirenyti on our blog today! Sirenyti is a Senior high school student in La Center Washington. This is an exciting year for Sirenyti, she is making the most of her last year in High School, enjoying her flexible schedule and making lasting memories with her friends.

Sirenyti is already working as a CNA but her overall career goal is to become an ultrasound technician. Sirenyti is excited to become a part of the medical field. If her main career goal ends up changing, Sirenyti has some other plans that will still keep her in the medical field. Other goals involve traveling with family and friends while she is still young and one day getting married and having a family of her own.

Sirenyti is a spiritual person, she believes the Bible is worth taking the time to understand. Her favorite quote is "With God all things are possible." - Matthew 19:26

Sirenyti is most proud of her mom! She wrote these wonderful words about her mom: "Not only is my mom just a mom to me, she is my best friend. I admire her and how hard she works and takes care of not only me but my family. She has a smile that lights up the room, a special personality that makes you become so attached to wanting to be with her all the time! Haha yes I am very attached to her. She is strong and courageous, she has so much love to always give and her heart is pure gold. I'm so lucky to have her as my mom. I don't know what I would do without her. She means so much to me."

What a sweetheart! I love this so much about Sirenyti!

Sirenyti is a country girl at heart. Country music, country vibes, living off the land, kindness, and being somewhere that matches her values - this is Sirenyti!

Rodney and Caroline's La Center Family Session

Bryan and I had the best time getting to know and photographing Caroline's family this Fall! It ended up being a beautiful sunny day, and we had so much fun goofing off and laughing along with them! Since we all live in La Center it just made sense to meet at one of our beautiful park trails for their photo session.

Caroline sent me an email to tell me about her family. As I was reading it, I thought she described her family so beautifully that I didn't want to change any of it or put anything in my own words. If this was my family, I'd love to read my mom's thoughts and how she expressed her love for us!

"Rodney and I met in Long Beach, WA. I was working at a local hospital and he was transporting a patient. It was love at first sight. We blended families, including myself with my two daughters and him and his two sons. It was challenging at first. But we just celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary and almost 20 years together!

I love all of my family in different ways. They each have their own unique qualities and special talents. But I what I love most about all of them is their kind and caring hearts. They have grown into beautiful humans.

Our grandchildren are our pride and joy. Our oldest has such kind and tender heart. He loves playing football and ALL animals. Since he was a small boy, we would and still do go on nature walks. He loves and has true appreciation for nature. And he is a very talented artist!

Our youngest grandson is a happy, outgoing and funny little boy. He loves to read and learn and he is so smart! He keeps us on our toes and he loves Grandpa’s magic tricks.

I learn so much from both my grandsons. They are always teaching me something new.

My husband is the “funny guy”. I always tell him he was put on this earth to annoy me. He is my entertainment!

It’s very challenging to have all our family together in the same place at the same time. It’s very important to have all our kids together for the holidays, Mother’s/Father’s Day and birthdays. So just having them all together at the same time makes our hearts happy. It’s the best feeling in the world! As empty nesters, we enjoy spending time at home binge watching our favorite shows and working out in our garage restoring furniture. My husband is gone a lot, so we just cherish the time that we do get to spend together.

With most of our family being in Fire/EMS, I wouldn’t say it makes us different, but one of the most challenging things is finding the time to all be together. It’s very challenging to plan a summer family vacation with their unique and very busy schedules. We really cherish those moments that we do get to be together.

Family is important. We are a fun loving family that sticks together. And knowing how important this photo session was to me, my family made sacrifices and took time out of their busy lives to make it happen."

Zuri and Lupita's Sunrise Maternity Session

Zuri and Lupita are expecting!

If you haven't followed their love story, it's a very sweet one. In simplified terms, they went from occasional dance partners at random parties and weddings to inseparable friends, once they realized they couldn't stop talking to each other they decided to get married! Four years ago, a virus couldn't stop their wedding plans and we were privileged enough to photograph their happy day! You can see their wedding blog here.

Zuri and Lupita had the surprise of a lifetime when they discovered that Lupita was not just pregnant, but almost done with her first trimester! These two have completely embraced the roller coaster of emotions that come as expecting parents. As best friends, they have had a wonderful experience so far drawing even closer to each other and dreaming about what their future will look like with this little one soon to arrive. Lupita's heart is ready to melt just thinking about the bond her daughter will have with Zuri. They have so much love already for their baby girl!

We hope these dreamy, foggy images bring to mind not only the whimsical but also the joy and laughter that Lupita and Zuri enjoy in this season of life.

Ana & Bernabe's 20th Anniversary at Cape Kiwanda

What an adventure we had celebrating Ana and Bernabe's 20th wedding anniversary!

Anyone who knows Ana will tell you what a creative soul she is. Ana loves beautiful things and has a talent for creating, she makes a vision come to life! She successfully put together multiple looks for her anniversary session. And as the passionate florist that she is, Ana made two flower baskets and one bouquet to match her different outfits!

Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City Oregon had that spectacular, romantic vibe we were looking for. Just wait until you see the stunning locations we chose for her red and blue dresses.... you'll see what I mean! In fact, I'm not sure what's more stunning - the dresses or the background!

Ana and Bernabe honeymooned on the coast, coming to the beach always reminds them of their honeymoon. They met in Centralia at a party and were married after a three month long engagement. Fast forward 20 years and they are still in love, quoting dumb movie lines and laughing at them, getting takeout or cooking up a mean rib eye steak and watching a movie for date nights. These guys are polar opposites, but don't let that fool you, they both love to make each other happy; Bernabe is a very patient, reliable and considerate husband, and Ana loves him fiercely for it!

It was so hard to choose, but enjoy our favorites from this epic Anniversary session!

Marshall & Jenna's River View Engagement Session

We are so excited for all of our upcoming Fall sessions! Autumn is definitely a favorite for many of our clients and a popular season for photo sessions. The PNW has been blessed with amazing warm, sunny days this Fall and I'm already starting to feel spoiled!

Let's kick off the season with Marshall and Jenna's engagement session! You guys are sure to enjoy these scenic views and the warm energy from this lovely session.

Marshall and Jenna are High School sweethearts! They went to different schools but met in 5th grade when Marshall began going to running club at Jenna's school. They became friends in 6-7th grade and have been inseparable ever since!

This is a couple who love their two dogs, a good mini golf competition and arcade games, or just staying in for game night. They both laugh at witty humor, and love to do anything outdoors. Even though they differ in interests and personality as well as how they were raised, when it comes down to core values they are aligned. They understand each other and where they are coming from. This is the making of a great couple!

In May Marshall and Jenna went on a road trip through California. They stopped for a day at Lake Tahoe and went for a sunset walk. This dreamy day they will never forget, because on that peaceful quiet evening on the lake, Marshall proposed to Jenna!

Jenna and Marshall are planning a quiet elopement in Lake Tahoe next year! This time around they will be taking their dogs and just a few family members to spend a weekend on the lake and to witness their marriage vows. Afterwards, they plan on a big celebration with all of their family and friends in their hometown here in Washington followed by a tropical honeymoon.

We wish these two the best for their anticipated Lake Tahoe elopement and can't wait to hear all about it!

Kodiak Sisters Senior Session

Kodiak is an island made for adventure. It's a place where everyone is united by the beauty of it all. Kodiak has a strong community where we notify each other of potential danger, or something we're concerned about." - Natalie

"We're so unique because we have ocean, and mountains, grasslands and so much more! There is so much to explore on Kodiak Island... Growing up, I always loved coming to this beach, a lot of memories were made here, many camping trips! Also the scenery is stunning here! My favorite memory is when I went polar plunging with my friends, while it was hailing! It was a surreal experience." - Maribehet

But it's not just about the camping trips and wonderful views... We stayed in Kodiak for three weeks for a work project and we know for a fact that there's more to this island than meets the eye! A simple afternoon boat ride can take you to any tiny island nearby where you can picnic or just go fishing. We took evening walks to the boat docks and looked into the water for jellys and starfish. We got to see otters, seals and sea lion, we watched sea planes land and take off. On a wet rainy day we tagged along as the family went fishing at a popular fishing spot and spotted THREE Kodiak bears fishing for salmon on the riverbank - the closest we've ever been to bear in the wild!

These girls have had a full life growing up in Kodiak Alaska! Maribehet and Natalie are twins and we really enjoyed getting to know them and their family while we were visiting. They are Seniors at the local High School in Kodiak and are in the graduating Class of 2025! They have one class together this year and have vastly different interests. Maribehet's favorite class is welding and she is in her fourth year. With an arsenal of welding certifications, she is currently working on a fabrication project of a lilac in her welding class! I hope I get to see it when she's done! Maribehet is passionate about always moving forward, she has big goals but takes things one day at a time. Her favorite quote is: "I do not, and will not fear tomorrow because I feel as though today has been enough." -Zack Bryan.

Natalie is passionate about art. It's the subject she enjoys the most and gets her through her day! Natalie is proud to have had her art in an auction in a museum! Personally as a fellow art enthusiast, I love watching Natalie's BeReal updates on some art projects she's been working on, so... keep posting!! Natalie's biggest hope for the future is a world without suffering, she is a big thinker and would love to do some traveling and volunteer work in the future! Natalie's favorite quote: "It is endless, the catalogue of attributes that make up who you are. The amount of things that are breathtakingly pretty. I've mentioned enough to rain a drop in the ocean." - Anonymous

These girls share a love for good food and outdoor adventures, they are both extremely kind, generous, easy to get along with, and they love their mom! They have an amazing community of supporters - the local congregation of friends, their parents, big brother, grandma, as well as an aunt and uncle who live close by and love them as their own!

Would it be okay to say that we are blessed to have come to know this beautiful family living in Kodiak Alaska, and how overjoyed we are to have received such warm hospitality and love!

Cameron & Savannah's Vineyard View Wedding

We were so excited to be back at Vineyard View at La Bastide in Scotts Mills Oregon for Cameron and Savannah's wedding! We love this venue - it's main attraction being beautiful views of Willamette Valley's Wine Country that bride and grooms always fall in love with. We also love the welcoming and accommodating spirit property owners Diana and her hubby show all their guests, they were so happy to have us back!

Cameron and Savannah are such a sweet couple! We have been looking forward to their wedding ever since we met them during their engagement session. It was a real treat to meet their wonderful family and close friends!

For a mid August wedding nobody was expecting thunderstorms to appear on the weather forecast. Thankfully tents were procured and set up in the morning. We felt rain drops starting just as portraits were finishing up. Heavy rain and thunder lasted throughout the ceremony and dinner but thankfully cleared up during the reception. What started out as a chaotic day prepping for uncertain weather quickly turned into calm and happiness. When the ceremony started and Cameron and Savannah saw all their loved ones, they said "all that stress went away and we just felt happiness. It truly ended up being one of the best days of our lives and honestly, the crazy weather just added to everything and made it even more memorable."

We must mention a couple special events that filled more hearts than one. Savannah's grandpa was one of the officiants at the wedding. He was also an officiant at Savannah's parents wedding and he was the one to baptize her as a baby. Another special moment was the father/daughter and mother/son dances. Cameron and Savannah did voice overs during the songs and talked about the reasons why they love their parents so much! What heartwarming moments!

Braeden & Alexis' Whipple Creek Family Session

Last week we went out with Braeden and Alexis and their two adorable boys for their family photo session. We went to Whipple Creek because Alexis wanted lots of green and loved the forest vibe for their pictures. Whipple Creek is a 300 acre regional park in Clark County Washington. It's mainly known for the over 4 miles of trails through impressive Douglas fir trees and beautiful sword ferns. We personally haven't walked all the trails here but its definitely a goal of ours!

Braeden and Alexis met in high school and reconnected during college. Alexis tells me that the arrival of their two boys made ordinary things in life exciting because they get to experience it again with the boys and everything is new and fun - for example running to the window to see the garbage truck!

Kayden is 4 years old and he loves everything about baseball and legos. He even brought his baseball and glove and I've gotta say - he can catch and throw better than me! Ashton is almost two and a huge ham! He loves trucks and hanging out with his brother.

Braeden and Alexis both work remote so they get to spend a lot of time as a family. And because they are also a screen free family, they spend a lot of time outside and finding things to do as a family like going on walks, playing at the park and going to the zoo.

Bryan and I loved getting to know this family of 4, these kiddos are kind and full of personality! Enjoy our favorites from their session!

Tyler & Alleigh's Ireland Anniversary Session

In case you don't already know this adorable couple allow me to introduce you to Tyler and Alleigh! Although this is not the first time they have been on our blog. We photographed their proposal, their engagement session at Smith Rock, as well as their wedding back in 2019. Therefore you can imagine how excited we were to photograph their 5 year anniversary session and in Ireland no less!! To make this doubly special for Bryan and I, this was our first trip to Europe and we got to spend three weeks traveling Europe with these special friends of ours! For the adventure photographers in us, it was an absolute dream to have a photo session at the famous Cliffs of Moher.

This was not Tyler and Alleigh's first time in Ireland. They love Ireland for the people - everyone is so nice and they just love to hear their accents. They also love Irelands scenery with its drastic cliffs and calming pastures spotted with sheep! We fell in love with the quaint towns and colorful seaside villages with pink, blue, yellow and green houses. We ate lots of fish and chips and enjoyed some good curry. Guinness and Kopparberg - these were the favored drinks from the week we were in Ireland!

What an awesome way to celebrate Tyler and Alleigh! We love having these two in our lives, whether its staying home playing board games, working alongside them at an LDC project, or having a grand adventure together!

O'Rian's Urban Waterfront Senior Session

We are so happy to be introducing O'Rian to the blog this afternoon. O'Rian is graduating from Penn Foster High School soon!

We had such a great time with O'Rian during his senior photo session, catching up with his parents was definitely a plus! We chose to shoot in Vancouver's urban area - first downtown and then we headed to the waterfront on the Columbia River.

Here are a few things about O'Rian: Math is his favorite subject in school because he finds solving problems fun and satisfying. He is contemplating the possibility of becoming an electrician like his father. On his off time, O'Rian likes hanging out with friends and chilling with his mom. He is also into sports and loves to play basketball as well as football, in fact, an exciting accomplishment of his was the time he beat his dad in a one on one basket ball game! Surely his super speed super power helped him out on that one!

O'Rian is active in Bible education and really enjoys field service. One of his favorite memories was having a share in seldom worked territory in South Dakota; O'Rian hopes to do more of this work as a full time evangelizer after graduation!

I know for sure his parents are so proud of the kind and spiritual person O'Rian is becoming!

Bianca's Cherry Blossom Senior Session

We are so excited to be sharing this session! The Springtime cherry blossoms are so anticipated here in the Pacific Northwest and it literally makes us so happy when we get to shoot under these trees!

Biancas mom reached out to me with this specific request, so we started scouting locations and scheduling drive by's to see for ourselves when the blossoms were at their peak!

Bianca is a high school senior student graduating from Oregon Charter Academy. She is passionate in the subject of health and participates in a medical science class which has helped her get her CPR, BLS, and CCMA certifications! Bianca is hoping to enter the medical field after graduation as a part time medical assistant.

Bianca is excited to finish her schooling to pursue other interests. She volunteers her time in Bible education and is interested in expanding her ministry. One of Bianca's favorite quotes taken from Matthew 6:22 is "The lamp of the body is the eye. If, then, your eye is focused, your whole body will be bright."

Bianca says: "I think it’s worth taking the time to understand more about what makes us happy. This sounds a little corny but I don’t think we can compare people’s lives to ours because nobody is going to have our exact same viewpoints on life. Once you realize what makes you happy I think it’s easier to enjoy life to it’s fullest extent."

Alexa's Spring Senior Session

Today we are welcoming Alexa to the blog!

Alexa is a high school student excited to graduate this year. She is working hard to finish the year off and enter the medical field as a medical assistant.

This is a girl who loves to crochet, listens to country music, and would binge watch Gilmore Girls on a rainy day. Alexa would love to spend a perfect day on the beach with a good book and and delicious food. No doubt she has a beautiful Mexican beach in mind and her family would be there with her.

Family is important to Alexa, her favorite memory is the day she met her baby brother. Alexa told me that her dad is an inspiration to her because he sets a good example by putting God first in his life above other things. Alexa is also a spiritual person and has dedicated her life to Jehovah, she describes this as one of her greatest accomplishments.

We loved getting to know Alexa and were really excited to shoot her senior session under these gorgeous cherry blossom trees!

We are so proud of Alexa just as her family is too!

Wen & Ling's Pre Wedding Session on Cannon Beach

We met Wen and Ling on the Oregon Coast, right in front of the famous Haystack Rock for a couples photo session. It doesn't matter how many times we come to this area, it's always the best! The coast is ever-changing, with weather and tide and passing time, you can't recreate the same conditions and its always a beautiful surprise to photograph in!

Wen and Ling were wonderful, I mean- just look at these portraits! We could tell from the beginning that they really love each other. These newlyweds are in the process of planning a wedding in the near future and we know by experience that they have so much to look forward to!

In the meantime, they're enjoying newlywed life; going out on dinner dates because they love to eat, or staying in to watch comedy movies because they love to laugh. Planning for the future (other than the wedding) includes hiking, traveling and seeing the world together! Now they can cross "Epic Oregon Coast photo session together" off their bucket list!

Sebastian's Battle Ground Senior Session

(C) Amanda and Bryan Photography We had a great morning with Sebastian and his parents exploring this gorgeous area just outside of Battle Ground earlier this month.

Sebastian is a High School student who will be graduating very soon from River Homelink High here in Southwest Washington.

With only two classes this semester he is really enjoying some free time and focusing a little more on broadening his spiritual routine. Sebastian strives to be a good friend, to understand others, and wants to see them happy.

The eldest of two siblings, Sebastians family is very important to him. He is so appreciative of his mom and all that she does to help him and his brother succeed. Some things Sebastian is looking forward to are graduating, spending time outdoors with his family on sunny days, seeing his grandparents again who are far from home; and of course, basketball!

Francisco & Michelle's Snow Canyon Utah Family Session

We had a trip to Las Vegas planned in December for various reasons- one of those included visiting family. We were really glad to see them again and enjoyed our time there so much! We were determined this time around to get away from the city and see as much of the surrounding landscapes as we could. There really are so many beautiful places to visit - Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Red Rock Canyon, and Mt Charleston are all a 45 min drive or less from Las Vegas. Because we love shooting in new and different places, we sent out an announcement to our social media followers to see if there was any interest in booking a session while we were there. Our friends Francisco and Michelle reached out to us right away which made us so happy because we hadn't seen them since they moved out of state. We had the honor of photographing their wedding here in Washington a few years ago (you can peek at their wedding blog here).

Francisco and Michelle live in St George Utah which is just 2 hours away from Las Vegas and on the way to Zion National Park. Since we had planned on spending a couple nights near Zion this worked out perfectly for us! We decided on taking their family pictures at Snow Canyon State Park which is just 10 minutes outside of St George - This worked out so much better than we could have planned on our own because I didn't even know Snow Canyon existed (never having been to St George myself) and it ended up being one of my favorite locations from this trip.

Another highlight of this session was finally getting to meet baby Silas! He was not quite one year old yet in December and as cute as can be! Silas was smiling and happy during the photo session, he was so proud to be standing and taking a few steps in his little cowboy boots! We really enjoyed our visit with Francisco and Michelle! Hope we can do it again soon!

Diego & Christianne's Abernethy Center Wedding in Oregon City

We were so grateful to be able to celebrate with Diego & Christianne on their festive wedding day! It followed a week of record low temperatures for the PNW, which included snow and an ice storm to top it off! Thankfully things warmed up enough by Saturday so that their day could go on as planned!

Abernethy Chapel was the setting for a classic ceremony followed by an elegant Ballroom reception at Abernethy Center in Oregon City. This was an ideal venue, not just because of its beauty and surrounding gardens but also because of the planning help and delicious dinner service provided.

We really enjoyed all the personal touches that Diego and Christianne included in their day which really made it unique to them! Formal vaquero attire predominated with cowboy boots and hats for the bridal party and the majority of guests dressed to match. Mexican pan dulce with hot chocolate and Mexican candies adorned the sweets table. Cute cacti of all sizes were sprinkled throughout the decor which reminds Christianne of her home in Mexico. Even the wedding colors tan and burgundy had meaning to them - burgundy being a mix of their favorite colors red and purple.

Christianne shared a very sweet first look with her bridesmaids. Afterwards she had a private first look with Diego under the gazebo in the veiled garden next to the chapel. We were a little concerned at first that we wouldn't be able to make it out there due to ice on the walkway, but we are so glad we did because the snow covered ground made their images so beautiful and memorable!

We were also surprised by some rain which had not been in the forecast, but all took it in good turn and it didn't dampen any spirits, on the contrary, the umbrellas were an added element to the portraits!

Their entire wedding was broadcasted via Zoom, mainly so that Diego's parents could feel present all the way from Mexico. The bride and groom took a moment during the reception to visit with them. Diegos parents were also formally dressed and even danced to a few songs at home! A live Tamborazo band arrived just as Diego and Christi finished their first dance to start the open dancing. Dancing was the main event of the reception, Christi got to dance with her mother, sister and grandmother; the band played a special song Christi's grandma requested and danced it with Diego; Diego's buddies threw him up in the air a few times - these and other moments they will always remember fondly!

There is so much more to say about Diego and Christianne's beautiful wedding day, but for now, enjoy our favorites here on the blog!

Brevin & Adaleni's Court House Square Wedding in Tacoma Wa

Brevin and Adaleni have been in a long distance relationship for some time. Brevin is from Vermont which is pretty much on the complete opposite side of the country. They met while Brevin was in Portland Oregon visiting his cousin and it just so happened that Adaleni and her family were visiting friends in Portland on the very same weekend. They attended a meeting where an Arabic speaking group meets - the very same meeting where Brevin's cousin was giving a public talk! The whole group went out to a Greek restaurant for dinner afterward and Brevin and Adaleni found themselves sitting next to each other and they hit it off.

These two thrived on face time dates, cooking nights, picnics, and lots of long distance calls. On one of the occasions Brevin and Adaleni got the chance of being together in Vermont, Brevin popped the question while they were sitting around a fire pit watching the sunset. No sooner did Adaleni accept his proposal than it started to rain and everybody had to run inside for cover!

I've been told that long distance wedding planning has its challenges. It was Brevin's first time seeing their wedding venue in person. The Court House Square in Tacoma has the best views of the city where Adaleni was born and raised. There is also an impressive view of Mt Rainier from the ballroom windows. This was the perfect location for these two to celebrate! Family and friends came from nearby, from Portland, California, the East Coast, and even via Zoom to witness Brevin and Adaleni's union. It was a happy joining of two very different families. The ceremony talk was given in two languages- English and Spanish. Brevin surprised Adaleni by learning and speaking his vows to her in Spanish!

Looking through their pictures you'd never be able to tell that we were having record low temperatures here in the PNW! Thankfully the days before the wedding there was no precipitation in Tacoma so we didn't have to battle icy conditions and most guests were able to arrive safely.

So happy for these two love birds! We will remember this beautiful wedding day for years to come!

Erick's Senior Session in Winlock

Allow us to introduce to you all my nephew Erick! Please excuse me if I get emotional because wasn't it just yesterday that I was at the hospital with my sister holding him all wrapped up in his newborn blanket? I'm not a mom but my two nephews are the closest thing I've experienced to being one - babysitting them when they were babies, toddlers & young boys; watching them grow into adolescence and enjoying any time we could spend with them has been wonderful! I have enjoyed photographing Erick and his brother whenever I got the chance but it seems that these last 4 years or so have gone by extremely fast!

Erick is a senior this year at Winlock High School. Like most seniors he is excited to finish up this part of his life, and looking forward to getting into the job market. There are a few things I have recently learned about Erick - his favorite subject in school is public speaking, the person in his family who he is most proud of is his mom, and he is most likely to binge watch 'Young Sheldon'.

Erick is in the wrestling team which has taken him to compete at state level. He also enjoys welding. As a junior Erick won second place in a welding competition held at Lower Columbia College. However, his current project is working on and maintaining his F250 truck.

Erick is a kind and gentle person and we know that these qualities will take him far in life. We are so proud of Erick!

Chris & Stephanie's Fall Family Session

Bryan and I are very excited to introduce Chris and Stephanie on our blog today! This couple has a truly special story so I will just let Stephanie tell you in her own words.

"We met in 2005 when we were just teenagers. We met through mutual friends. We dated long distance from Portland, OR to Sutter, CA for several months when I turned 18, but we hated the long distance so Chris moved to California in March 2009. We got engaged in Fort Bragg, CA on the beach. Chris was so nervous to propose that the sun had completely set when he finally asked. We got married in November 2009 and we moved to the Seattle area for 2.5 years. We had lots of adventures in Washington State and Canada while living there. After that time there, we were homesick so we moved back to Gresham, OR and my immediate family moved from California to be close to us. We have been here since 2012.

Chris and I travelled a lot. We have been to England, Mexico, Canada, and Hawaii. We spent lots of time with friends and our dogs. I went back to school for a couple years. I pioneered during the pandemic. We stayed very busy but after 10+ years of marriage, we decided we wanted to have a baby.

We were trying to have a baby for 2 years after we lost our first pregnancy. I had a couple medical tests and procedures and it looked like none of it was working. We had finally given up and then I didn't feel well one day. I took two tests, a COVID test and a pregnancy test and they both came up positive on my 31st birthday. 😂

Caleb was the most wanted baby in the world. He was born in October 2022 and he is the best thing to ever happen to us. He loves being outside to play, he loves our cat Lucy and our dogs Penny and Lincoln. He is so smart, affectionate and funny. He can be stone faced with strangers but once he gets to know you his smile really comes out. He walked at 11 months and now he's already running. He is climbing and getting into all kinds of mischief 24/7. His favorite foods are pizza, tomatoes and eggs.

We like to camp, play with our dogs, go in service, go to Wallowa Lake every year, and spend time with family. We went through a lot the past 3.5 years to get to today but we finally feel whole with Caleb here. It's like the 13 years before him are a blur and this past year has been our greatest adventure yet."

Marisa's Woodland Fall Senior Session

Marisa is a very sweet High School student from Vancouver WA. We spent an amazing afternoon with her this Fall taking her senior pictures! Starting in our back yard because we have access to a beautiful forest and that was one of her bucket list items for her photo backdrops. Afterwards we headed to one of Woodland's beautiful lakes and it ended up being just perfect for a moody session. If anyone here thinks that it has to be sunny in order to get good pictures outside - oh how wrong you are! It actually sprinkled on us during this session and even though we were ready with our umbrellas we didn't end up using them. Cloudy skies and fog over a body of water make the most breathtaking and unique pictures.

"Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory" - Dr. Seuss. I'm just borrowing Marisa's favorite quote here because it is so true! Marisa shared a couple of her favorite memories with me which by the way speak to how much she values her family and her parents specifically; but we don't always realize how much a moment can impact us until after its over.

I love the way Marisa describes her ideal day. It starts out with coffee and watching the sunrise, includes shopping at vintage stores, drawing, playing guitar, enjoying meals with her family, laughing with people she loves, and ends with a cup of tea. How perfect is that!

Jerry's Kelso Football Senior Session

We are welcoming Jerry to the blog this week! Jerry is a Kelso High School senior who is on the football team.

This is a good year for Jerry because he is taking advanced courses in order to challenge himself for college. Some things he is enjoying this year are track, Chemistry, and creating projects in ceramics.

After he graduates High School, Jerry's goals to attend University of Washington and become a nurse. However, his goals don't stop there, living a peaceful and successful life are a top priority for him. One day, Jerry would like to travel to Japan to see the culture and technology firsthand. He'd also love to try Japan's different types of food and explore it's beautiful nature and landscapes.

Jerry believes that it is worth it to deeply understand life. Really admiring the beauty and privilege in it. Jerry is thankful for each day he gets to experience in this beautiful world; he says just getting up is a luxury we often take for granted.

He would like to be known as a very kind and helpful person, someone others can count on. Jerry really enjoys seeing his friends happy, laughing, and involved.

"Be the light in someone's life that they never had" - is Jerry's favorite quote.

There is a very important person in Jerry's life - he is most proud of his mom for always being there for him and for all the sacrifices she has made in her life for him.

Bryan and I really enjoyed getting to know Jerry and his mom during our photo session with him. He knew exactly what he wanted for his senior pictures and we absolutely loved that! Andrew's Fall Senior Session

I am so happy to be introducing Andrew to you all! Andrew is a High School Senior who is also taking classes at Mt Hood Community College. I really had a great time getting to know him during our session this Fall!

I love getting to know the seniors that we photograph. I've started sending them some questions to that end and I'm so happy with the results! I learn lots of cool things about their personality and their aspirations for the future which makes me appreciate them even more! I love the challenge of photographing people when they get relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera, then I feel like I really get to capture who they are!

Since Andrew is so good at expressing himself with the written word I am going to share what he wrote to me about himself and his senior year. Hope you all enjoy getting to know Andrew as much as I did. Enjoy some of my favorites from his senior photo session!

"In regards to school, I would say my favorite subjects are math and writing, and that my least favorite subject would be science. I really enjoy the challenge of solving complex math problems. As far as writing goes, I love to be able to tell a story through my writing.

I really like that I have been able to take American Sign Language. I learned a lot about the Deaf culture and have become a better signer.

I am Editor-in-Chief of my college newspaper. I have loved being able to build an amazing team of writers, photographers, graphic designers and people with many more talents. It has been really fun to learn new skills and be able to lead my team to success.

I want to be known for how I have helped my community thrive and in general I hope to be known for being a kind and empathetic person.

My favorite sport to watch is definitely basketball, especially the Portland Trail Blazers. My favorite sport to participate in has to be Snowboarding. I love the peaceful environment that being on the mountain brings, and the challenges of learning new tricks and skills while snowboarding.

If I could move anywhere in the world, I would move to Norway. I love the cold much more than I like the heat, so really anywhere cold would be great. Along with that, I am certainly a city person and would love to move to a bigger city."

Diego & Christi's PNW Engagement Adventure

We're welcoming Diego and Christi to the blog today! We absolutely loved getting to know them during their engagement session earlier this Fall. It really was the most beautiful day to be on an adventure with these two at the edge of the picturesque Columbia River Gorge!

If you don't already know this cute couple, heres a little bit about them. Diego and Christi met on social media! Their love story began when Diego hit up Christi on the DM’s and since then the communication never stopped. However, Christi was a little hard to get at first and made it difficult for Diego. But after 5 months Diego’s hard work paid off, and he conquered Christi’s heart and asked her to be his girlfriend,…and she said yes! Their love for each other has grown more and more each day.

7 months later this happened: What Christi thought was going to be a normal girls night out, turned out to be her engagement party! Diego planned a beautiful outdoor surprise engagement at Grateful Vineyard in Parkdale, OR. All of their closest family and friends were there to witness a surprise engagement go down! Diego made a “Will You Marry Me?” setup among the vineyards and with Mt Hood in the background, using flowers and Christi’s favorite color everywhere.

Everything seems to point to these two being made for each other! Christi tells me that they are very, very similar to each other! It’s more than just having things in common. They agree on so many things, if not, on most things.
These two are so much fun! Diego makes Christi laugh a lot, and memes make Diego laugh a lot. They love to eat, dance, see new places, try new cocktails, go to concerts, hiking, art galleries, and talk for hours and hours!

Daniel & Karistionna's Carver Event Center Wedding

Daniel and Karistionna had a beautiful celebration last month legalizing their union as husband and wife! It was a perfect day in October at the Carver Event Center in Damascus Oregon. This venue was originally a school back in the 1930's, and we love it for its old charm feel and inviting grounds- particularly the willow trees!

Bryan and I loved that we were immediately welcomed in by Daniel and Karistionna's family and friends. It wasn't hard to get creative with their relaxed and go with the flow vibe!

One of the things you will immediately notice as you view these pictures is the most important thing in this couples lives - their daughter Wynry who quite often stole the show! Daniel and Karistionna each got to have a private first look with Wynry. It was just the cutest thing watching her run to each of her parents! We were also able to document Daniel and Karistionna's first look with each other. We love how these two make each other laugh! Karistionna's smile and laugh are one of the things I enjoyed the most while photographing her, she made it so easy for me!

Daniel and Karistionna really made this day true to them. They incorporated one of their leisure pursuits or shall I say passions into their day - Anime & video games. Their ceremony music was from Final Fantasy, and they had a Naruto cake topper (if you know, you know). Karistionna's mom lovingly walked her down the aisle. Instead of a ring exchange during the wedding ceremony, Daniel and Karistionna had a sand ceremony symbolizing their commitment and the joining of two lives. Their daughter Wynry couldn't help but want to take part in the ceremony and helped pour the sand!

One of the most memorable moments of the day was during the first dance as husband and wife - Wynry ran right up to her parents and wanted to dance with them! It touched everyones heart! What precious memories will be cherished from this day!

Cam & Savannah's Government Cove Engagement Session

We began our day by leaving the house while it was still dark out. Sunrise sessions are always worth it! The lighting can range from blue hour to golden hour and of course we usually get these great locations all to ourselves without the crowds! The Columbia River Gorge really is extensive and there are so many beautiful spots to choose from! Cam and Savannah chose this gem of a location which we absolutely love because of it's gorgeous diversity!

Cam and Savannah are engaged to be married! They met through mutual friends at a weekend at the beach and became good friends. They actually became roommates and lived together as friends for several months before Cam asked Savannah to be his girlfriend.

Cam proposed to Savannah at the Zoo - the same place they had their first date!

These two like to keep things simple, they love to relax together by watching a good movie at home or going out to dinner and the movie theater. They also enjoy working out together and taking their dogs for walks.

We love how quiet and content Savannah's personality is, she smiled throughout the whole session and I literally couldn't get her to stop! And well, we couldn't get Cam to stop looking at Savannah!
