Jayson & Megumi Kualoa Ranch Wedding

You might be wondering how a guy originally from Philippines living in Hawaii and a Peruvian girl living in Spain got married.  Its a pretty special story, Jayson and Megumi knew of each other through mutual friends.  They met in Barcelona while he was on vacation and they started dating.  He popped the question last year in Capri, Italy on a private boat underneath the arch of love: l'archo de amore.  

Their wedding took place on the island of Oahu, Hawaii at Paliku Gardens in Kualoa Ranch which is located at the base of the 1000 ft high Kanehoalani mountain peak.  They exchanged marriage vows with views of Kaneohe Bay, the Pacific Ocean and Mokoli'i Island in the background.  

Guests enjoyed so many treats this day including a delicious lunch.  Hawaiian Hula dancing and traditional Philippine folk dance called Tinikling, and yes, instruction was given to whoever wanted to try learning the dances! Three lovely ladies sang an emotional rendition of the popular Ed Sheeran song "Perfect" accompanied by violin and guitar in three languages: English, Spanish and Filipino.  A surprise video made by Megumi's friends from Spain who will be missing her very much moved many to tears.  Hawaiian pu-pu platter of appetizers and roasted pig called Lechon were served in the evening just after cake cutting and first dances.

Megumi's most cherished memories from her wedding day: The moment Jayson saw her for the first time under a canopy of tropical trees.  Watching Jaysons reaction when she surprised him by reading her marriage vows to him in Ilokano, his Filipino language.  Their family and friends receiving them clapping and cheering during their grand entrance into the reception.  And finally, as if the day wasn't perfect enough, there was a magical moment just as the sun was setting, when the ranch released their horses and they came running out into the rolling pastures below us.  

We danced the night away to DJ Sergio's cool music and Bryan and I were happy to have been able to travel with him and his wife the hairdresser Rubi and work another wedding together!  We were also happy to have met and worked along with Mike Arcangel who came from southern California to film and local wedding planner Lauran from Weddings by Forrest and Lauren, it was a pleasure!
